Experimental Study on Corrosion of Anchored Rock Mass for Half‐Through Intermittent Joints

Abstract: Make crackled mortar test block to simulate jointed rock mass reinforced by anchor bars. Computational model of corrosion penetration at different load times can be obtained by corrosion acceleration through electrochemistry. Through observation of anchor bar after corrosion, it is found that primary corrosion is mainly pitting; however, with the development of corrosion, corrosion moves along etch pit to the upper and lower surfaces so as to form partial corrosion. Meanwhile, computational formula of pitting … Show more

“…In order to realize that effectively, it was supposed that the current distribution is non-deviating in the concerned area (A). Keeping that in mind, current density (i corr ) is calculated as follows: Based on Faraday's laws [93], the corrosion rate or mass loss rate equation [94][95][96] is as follows which can be used to calculate the rate associated with corrosion:…”

“…e mechanical properties and durability of the anchor cable are very important for the anchorage system [2]. Hence, geotechnical anchoring technology is widely used in roadway bolt support [3], jointed rock reinforcement [4,5], and other underground engineering constructions. Corrosion of steel members is one of the main reasons for the deterioration of concrete structures, and the corrosion grade is often used to evaluate the bond strength between steel and concrete [6].…”

“…e fracture failure shape of a single-jointed rock mass can be well described by uniaxial [25], biaxial [26], and triaxial compression tests [27], but it can only simulate the jointed rock mass under dry conditions. Making the cracked mortar specimens to simulate the semi-penetrating jointed rock mass, Ding et al [28] obtained the calculation model of the corrosion amount under different loading time and proposed the formula of pitting ratio based on the concept of mass loss rate. In order to more accurately simulate the situation at the scene, Wu et al [29] analyzed the SCC of full-scale anchor bars.…”
