“…In this high-temperature oxygen-isolating environment, iron-sulfide compounds will be generated via the reaction of sulfur and wear debris. The reaction process [5][6][7] may be expressed as Equations (14)- (17).…”

“…The scheme of the test apparatus, the test procedures, the pretreatment process of the friction specimens, and the characterization methods of the friction products can be referred in Ref. [7]. The distinction is that new test specimens with improved structure were used in this work.…”

“…There are three mainstream sulfur granulation processes including rotary steel-band chilling granulation process, rotary drum granulation process, and water-cooling granulation process at present. For the rotary steel-band chilling granulation process, although it is usually considered as the best one, the product is hemispherical or flake-like with poor sphericity, and the mechanical friction which may cause dust or ignition danger is also inevitable during the process. , The rotary drum granulation process is relatively simple, but it is necessary to provide small sulfur particles as a seed crystal. Although the product obtained by the water-cooling granulation process has high sphericity, moisture entrainment is inevitable, which requires additional drying sections resulting in more energy consumption. , Therefore, it is of great significance to propose a method that can solve the problems of serious dust and poor sphericity in a non-water granulation process and avoid the underwater granulation process with high energy consumption.…”
