Experimental Study on the Saturated Liquid Density and Bubble Point Pressure for R1234ze(E) + R290

Abstract: Saturated liquid densities and bubble point pressures of trans-1,3,3,3-tetrafluoropropene (R1234ze(E)) + propane (R290) binary mixture were measured at temperatures from (253.141 to 293.284) K and mole fractions of R1234ze(E) from (0.1746 to 0.8803) using a compact single-sinker densimeter. The standard uncertainties were estimated to be less than 5 mK for temperature, 600 Pa for pressure, 0.003 for mole fraction, and 0.01% for density. The experimental saturated liquid densities were reproduced by the VDNS … Show more

“…Zhong et al 31 established the Helmholtz state equation for the mixture R290/R1234ze(E). And Zhang et al 32 studied the saturated liquid density and bubble point pressure of the mixture R290/R1234ze(E) in different components experimentally. Based on those studies, the refrigerants R290 and R1234ze(E) were chosen to be combined in a certain mass ratio to form a new refrigerant mixture, and the research result was analyzed and presented in this paper in order to find an energy‐saving, environmental friendly, safe, and efficient refrigerant as a substitute for R22.…”
