Abstract:Experimental and theoretical investigations are presented of the performance of noise barriers in the open air. The experimental work includes full-scale measurements on barriers and scale-model measurements on a barrier in a wind tunnel. The wind tunnel experiments indicate that meteorology has large effects on barrier attenuation. The results of the wind tunnel experiments are compared with results of numerical computations with the parabolic equation method. Good agreement with the experimental data is obta… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
