Abstract: BackgroundEarly Barrett cancer can be curatively treated by endoscopic resection. The choice of the resection technique, however—endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR) or submucosal dissection (ESD)—largely depends on the assumed infiltration depth as judged by the endoscopist.
