Expert stakeholders’ perception of nanotechnology: risk, benefit, knowledge, and regulation

Abstract: This study is positioned in a multidisciplinary research field addressing questions of innovation, foresight, risk perception, regulation, and the role of stakeholder experts as regards nanomaterials and nanotechnology. Nanotechnology is an innovative scientific field with many potential societal benefits but also high uncertainty about risks to human health and the environment. This study is based on a survey distributed to a sample of 237 expert stakeholders in Sweden working in the field of nanotechnology i… Show more

“…Subsequently, considering the fundamental contributing factors of the particular stakeholders, often examine solutions in a broader range of initiatives rather than viewing each contributed equally. The defined approaches in [150] are focused almost entirely on the contents of the objects allocated to each topic. In certain instances, random word use requires the distribution of small series values for conceptually similar subjects.…”

“…Therefore, scientific processes must be used as the basis for the labelling measure. The nature and extent of safety and health risks of ENMs continue to be shrouded with uncertainty and are still being investigated till today (Sovalainen & Pietroiusti, 2017;Larsson, Jansson, & Boholm, 2019). There are various scientific studies conducted to determine the risks of nanomaterials (Maksimović, Omanović-Mikličanin, & Badnjević 2019).…”
