Exploration of Biological Properties and Antibacterial Action against Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus of (LLKK)3‐Derived Peptides

Abstract: In an attempt to develop new antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) with better biological properties, three AMPs of (LLKK)3 analogues were designed and synthesized. The antibacterial activity, cell toxicity and pepsin stability of the three AMPs were determined, and the antibacterial action of the candidate AMP was analyzed. The results showed that the G(LLKK)3L AMP had the stronger antibacterial activity against Escherichia coli (E. coli) and Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) compared to the other AMPs. The hemolytic… Show more

“…The cell pellet was washed three times with PBS before the addition of 1 mL of the composite film leaching solution (0.5 g of composite film was soaked in 5 mL of PBS solution for 24 h) or PBS. After incubation for 3 h, the cells were stained in the dark for 20 min using a Living/Dead Bacteria Double Staining Kit utilizing the dyes SYTO9 and PI [32] . After staining, the cells were washed three times with PBS to remove any excess dye.…”
