“…In the literature, diagnostic laparoscopy is often associated with a simultaneous appendectomy procedure, and the discussion in this area is mostly focused on the value of appendectomy in cases of recurrent right lower quadrant pain [4,6,7] . In accordance with other reports [4,5,9,10] , in the present study surgery was benefi cial for 88 % of patients with chronic abdominal pain; surgery was based on signifi cant intraoperative fi ndings in 40 % of patients, who required additional surgical therapy.
