Exploring design tradeoffs of a distributed algorithm for cosmic ray event detection

Abstract: Many sensor networks, including large particle detector arrays measuring high-energy cosmic-ray air showers, traditionally rely on centralised trigger algorithms to find spatial and temporal coincidences of individual nodes.
