Exploring Existence of Host-Guest Inclusion Complex of β-Cyclodextrin of a Biologically Active Compound with the Manifestation of Diverse Interactions

Abstract: The host–guest interaction of p-nitro benzaldehyde as guest β-Cyclodextrins have been investigated which have significant applications in the field of medicine such as controlled drug delivery. The 1H NMR study confirms the formation of inclusion complex while surface tension and conductivity studies support the formation inclusion complex with 1:1 stoichiometry. The stoichiometry of the inclusion complex was also supported with Job’s plot method by UV-Visible spectroscopy. FT-IR spectra and SEM study also sup… Show more

“…The inclusion complexation of UMB with αCD was prepared by applying the coprecipitation method. 27 A solution of αCD (1.38 g) and UMB (0.2 g) was prepared in 25 mL of double-distilled water in a 1:1 molar ratio and stirred at 55 °C for 48 h. The resulting clear solution was evaporated to dryness. Then, the white precipitate was filtered cautiously and washed with ethanol and water four times to eliminate uncomplexed UMB and αCD.…”

“…Furthermore, the bioavailability of compounds has been defined as the fraction of a compound that is released from its matrix in the gastrointestinal tract and thus exhibits the oral absorption ability (Fernández-García, Carvajal-Lérida, & Pérez-Gálvez, 2009). The information from bioavailability studies would contribute to ensure or improve its nutritional efficacy (Rahaman, Roy, Roy, Ray, & Roy, 2018;Torres-Palazzolo et al, 2018). The present study was undertaken to investigate the bioavailability of pigments in "Laba" garlic.…”
