Abstract:Amidst environmental challenges, this study utilizes the innovative method of microbially-induced calcite precipitation (MICP) to explore its application in recycling waste concrete fines (WCF). Specifically, we scrutinize the role of porosity in the mechanical behavior of MICP-cemented WCF conglomerates. Through a series of indentation tests, the study provides force-displacement relationships from which the stiffness of the samples is calculated. The Young’s modulus of the samples is then estimated using Sne… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
