“…Although educators of any cultural background can effectively teach and support CLD families and students, there is a pressing need for more professionals of color trained to work with DB, DHH, and BVI students. (Cannon & Luckner, 2016; Mason, 2000) There is also a need for increased preservice training and professional development related to cultural diversity (Bruce, Ferrell, & Luckner, 2016; Conroy, 2005; Correa-Torres & Durando, 2011; Milian, 2000; Smith-Warshaw & Crume, 2020).
