Exponential Genetic Algorithm-Based Stable and Load-Aware QoS Routing Protocol for MANET

Abstract: As the actual links in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) are dynamic, the feasible path generated may not exist during the transmission of multimedia data. There is a need for generating multiple paths for guaranteed transmission. The multi-path finding can be achieved through a genetic-based algorithm that faces the major challenge in quality-of-service (QoS)-aware routing. To enhance the QoS communication over the MANETs, an exponential genetic algorithm (GA)-based stable and load-aware QoS routing protocol (S… Show more

“…Packet delivery Ratio is the fraction of total number of packets received by the destination node to total number of packets generated or sent by the source node. The packet delivery ratio is obtained by the following equation (Rama Rao et al (2016): where P Received signifies the received data packets number by the source node, P Generated is the total number of generated data packets through the source node and n is the sensor nodes number in network.…”

“…The proposed protocol introduces the multiple parameters for the route quality computation as well as it integrates the exponential function to the GA. The result obtained for the SLAQR method improved on the GAQR method by 58 percent for delivery ratio, 56 percent for throughput and 97 percent for delay (Rama Rao et al , 2016).…”
