Expressão de proteínas reguladoras do complemento CD55, CD59, CD35 e CD46 na artrite reumatoide

Abstract: Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease associated with polyarticular infl ammatory synovitis affecting mainly peripheral joints. It affects approximately 1% of the world population, being two to three times more prevalent in women. Rheumatoid arthritis has a complex and multifactorial pathogenesis. The synovium of the affected joints is infi ltrated by T and B lymphocytes, macrophages, and granulocytes. The rheumatoid synovium has proliferative characteristics, forming the pannus, which invades car… Show more

“…In a similar way to CD21 and CD32, CD35 is also related to some autoimmune diseases [34,35]. It had been shown that soluble recombinant CD35 improves inflammation, demyelination, and severity of clinical disease in a rat model of MS disease [36].…”

“…Signaling induced by CD46 activation may also regulate the Notch pathway, affecting not only the integrity of epithelial cells [230] but also immune function regulation. In the case of some chronic autoimmune diseases, the cofactor CD46 plays a significant role in regulation of the complement system and its synthesis has been found to be positively regulated by CRP [231,232].…”

“…In systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) patients, mCD46 expression was found to be downregulated during lymphopenia and neutropenia relative to that in healthy subjects, whereas disease severity was associated with activation of the complement system 1315 . In addition, decreased CD46 expression was associated with aggravation of the clinical symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis 1618 .…”
