Expression of env gene of bovine leukemia virus in rodent cells

Abstract: The BamHI-BamHI fragment of the env gene of bovine leukemia virus (BLV) cloned in pMMEx expression vector was transfected into Chinese hamster cells. Monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) directed against both conformational and sequential epitopes of gp51 of BLV recognized viral polypeptides expressed in hamster cells in Western blotting and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.
