Abstract: Recent data showed that prenatal alcohol exposure (PAE) impairs the “placenta–brain” axis controlling fetal brain angiogenesis in human and preclinical models. Placental growth factor (PlGF) has been identified as a proangiogenic messenger between these two organs.
