Abstract:Two cDNA fragments induced in developing zygotes of Dictyostelium discoideum were isolated by mRNA differential display. The relevant genes were also found to be expressed during asexual development, suggesting that sexual and asexual development share common molecular mechanisms in D. discoideum.
