“…i) The role of the TLRs in mounting an immune response during PRRSV infection has been confirmed [41], [42]. Once activated, IRF1 , IRF2 and IRF7 translocate into the nucleus and induce the transcription of IFN-β and IFN-αω , but not IFN-α .…”

“…It has been reported previously that activation of TLRs/MyD88 is involved in the production of cytokines in pigs. The levels of TNF-α, IL-1, IL-6, IL-10 and IFN-γ in alveolar macrophages and peripheral blood mononuclear cells increased and the mRNA expression of TLR2, 3, 4, 7 and 8 were upregulated in PRRSV-infected pigs [20], [27][29]. MyD88 played an important role in IL-10 production during PRRSV infection, and the induction of IL-10 was dependent on NF-kB activation and p38 MAPK [27].…”

“…PRRSV is an enveloped single-stranded RNA virus which causes interstitial pneumonia by infecting alveolar macrophages [39], and results in increased secretion of IL-1β, IL-6, and TNF-α [46, 47]. Rectal temperature and feed intake were monitored daily.…”
