Expression profile analysis based on DNA microarray for patients undergoing off-pump coronary artery bypass surgery

Abstract: Off-pump coronary artery bypass (OPCAB) surgery is the most effective treatment for coronary heart disease. The aim of this study was to explore the effects of OPCAB on the basis of the associated molecular mechanisms. GSE12486 expression profiles downloaded from the Gene Expression Omnibus database (GEO) were analyzed to identify the differentially expressed genes (DEGs). Principal component analysis (PCA) was conducted based on the expression profiles of DEGs. Function and pathway enrichment of upregulated D… Show more

“…GSEA (version 2.2.0) (Cambridge, MA, UK) is a powerful analysis tool for integrating gene expression data with gene sets to identify unified biological themes. 23 Significantly differentially expressed genes were verified by qRT-PCR and WB after identification via Z-score fold-change screening.…”

“…Another report has shown that early growth response 2 (EGR2) is regulated by 8 microRNAs, including miR‐150. It might play important roles in patients before and after off‐pump coronary artery bypass (OPCAB) surgery via the regulation of associated genes . Many studies have shown that miR‐17‐5p is an important regulator in the G1/S phase cell cycle transition .…”

“…Among these, we selected several of the most affected miRNAs (miR-7-1-3p, miR-32-3p, miR-211-5p, and miR-548u-3p) for evaluation by qRT-PCR (normalized to miR-16) in the validation cohort. Notably, miR-7-1-3p and miR-211-5p are reported biomarkers of ischemic heart disease (11)(12)(13). The concentrations of these miRNAs were significantly different in all patients with sarcoidosis, taken collectively, relative to control subjects.…”

“…Exosomal contents offer a rich source of potential biomarkers and may reflect the underlying molecular mechanisms of disease (5). miR-7-1-3p and miR-211-5p have been shown to be markers of, and in the case of miR-7-1-3p, incriminated in the pathogenesis of ischemic cardiac disease (11)(12)(13). However, the role of miR-7 in the pathogenesis of CS, if any, remains to be determined.…”
