Expression und Funktion des ORL-1-Rezeptors auf humanen Leukozyten

Abstract: The ORL-1 receptor is expressed by all subtypes of leukocytes. The function of this receptor is not the modulation of cytokine production and requires further studies.

“…On the other hand, nociceptin mRNA was up-regulated by LPS in rat astrocytes and in mice sensory neuron cultures and NOP expression was strongly induced after activation of human lymphocytes by phytohaemagglutinin [13], [15], [26]. Williams and co-workers [7], [8] reported of NOP and PNoc mRNA expression in human peripheral blood mononuclear cells, whereas other authors described NOP mRNA expression on human granulocytes, lymphocytes and monocytes and nociceptin transcripts in resting human peripheral blood lymphocytes, specifically CD19+ B cells [29], [30].…”

“…15 16 The receptor protein was detected on the cell surface of all types of white blood cells without any age-or sex-dependent differences. 17 The existence of NOP on T-cells and the ability of immune cells to produce N/OFQ 5 14 suggest an immunomodulatory role. For pN/OFQ, expression in peripheral blood mononuclear cells and neutrophils has also been described.…”

“…NOP‐eGFP knock‐in mice have been used to examine expression‐function but with a neuronal focus (Ozawa et al ., ). Outside the nervous system, we and others have shown the presence of the NOP receptor in immune tissues, but due to presumed ultra‐low expression, this has been suggested through PCR and modulation of immune function (Kruger et al ., ; Zhang et al ., ). While it is possible to obtain acceptable amounts of cerebral tissue to measure opioid expression through radioligand binding, the quantities of peripheral tissue available are most often inadequate for such studies.…”
