A solution for the coupling of stochastic electromagnetic fields to multiconductor transmission lines (MTLs) is presented in this article. The presented method is suitable for MTLs of any geometry that fulfills the conditions of transmission line theory. The simulation model is based on the Baum-Liu-Tesche equations using complex per-unit-length parameters. The model is validated against the method of moments and shows a very good agreement. Because of its time efficiency compared to full numerical models, the focus of this work lies on the analytical model. The coupling of stochastic electromagnetic fields to a MTL consisting of 2 single-wire lines above a conducting ground plane is simulated. For different setups of the MTL, the average squared magnitude of the coupled terminal currents of the lines is calculated and discussed.
