The study assessed the government interventions in the development of secondary school education in Malumfashi Zonal Education Quality Assurance, Katsina state, Nigeria. The study was guided by two (2) objectives from which two (2)research questions and two (2)null hypotheses were generated and analysed. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design involving a total population of 42 principals and 641 teachers in the 28 Secondary schools in the study area. A multistage sampling technique was used to select 234 teachers and 12 principals from 12secondary schools in the zone. Government Intervention in the development of Secondary School Education Questionnaire (α = 0.973) was used to collect the data. The data were analysed using Descriptive Statistics (frequency count, mean and standard deviation) and Independent samples t-test. The result of the study revealed that the level of government intervention in the development of both infrastructural facilities and instructional materials in secondary schools in Malumfashi ZEQA is at satisfactory level. Also, it was found that there was no significant difference among respondents regarding the level of government intervention in the development of both infrastructural facilities and instructional materials in secondary schools in Malumfashi ZEQA. It was recommended among other things that; government should continue to provide enough teaching and non-teaching materials to cater for the increase in students and staff population.

This study was designed to examine principals’ use of community financial resources and its impact on the management of secondary schools in Fako Division, South-West Region of Cameroon. The study was guided by two objectives which to investigate the impact of principals’ use of foreign aids and community/PTA levy and its impacts on the management of secondary schools. The survey research design particularly the cross-sectional survey design was used. This design was used because data were collected at once and not periodically as seen with longitudinal survey. The population of the study comprised of 8746 teachers and 1217 principals from secondary schools in the South West Region of Cameroon. The sample population for the study was made up of 426 teachers and 29 principals. The purposive and simple random sampling techniques was adopted for the study. The instruments use for data collection were a questionnaire (closed and open ended questions) for teachers and an interview guide for principals. Data from close ended questions was analysed using SPSS 23.0, with the aid of descriptive and inferential statistical tools while open ended questions were analysed thematically. The Pearson Product Moment Correlation was used to test the research hypotheses formulated in the study. The finding shows that with reference to foreign aids, 67.5% of teachers accepted that the principal makes use of foreign aids and with reference to community/PTA levy, 61.1% of teachers accepted that the principal makes use of community/PTA levy. Hypothetically, the result of the analysis revealed that the calculated Гxy -value 0.289 is higher than the critical Гxy -value 0.0978 at .05 level of significance and degrees of freedom 426. Furthermore, the p-value of 0.000 is less than 0.05. With the result of this analysis, the null hypothesis was rejected and the alternative hypothesis accepted. This result implies that the use of community financial resources by principals do have significant impact on the management of secondary schools although the impact is moderate. The positivity of the correlation value 0.289** implies that management of secondary schools is more likely to be enhance when principals adequately make use of community financial resources. Therefore, it is generally recommended that, that using community financial resources to pay part time teachers will help the school to attain it goals and objectives, community financial resources will greatly help the schools attain their goals and objectives since we hardly given sufficient finances for the running of the school.

This study was designed to assess the Vice-Chancellors’ Role Performance in Management of Students’ Welfare Services in Universities in North-East Zone, Nigeria. The study was conducted with two objectives which were to assess: The Vice-Chancellor’s role performance in management of students’ hostel accommodation services, the Vice-Chancellors’ role performance in management of security services in Universities in North-East Zone, Nigeria. `A descriptive survey research design was employed for the study. The population of the study comprises of all the fifteen Universities in North-East Geopolitical Zone of Nigeria. A multistage sampling technique was used for the study. Firstly, a purposeful sampling technique was used in the selected 6 universities out of the fifteen university for the study, similarly, a total of 75 staff were selected purposively both students’ affairs division and management staff, in the same vein, a total of 300 students comprises of hostel representatives and class representatives were selected which give a total of 420 respondents respectively. A structured questionnaire titled: ‘Opinion of Staff and Students’ in Management of Hostel Accommodation and Security Services ‘Questionnaire’ (SSMHASSQ). Questionnaire was developed by the researcher and validated by three experts in the Department of Educational Foundations and Curriculum Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria. The reliability coefficient of the validated instrument used for data collection for the study was 0.76 through Cronbach Alpha statistics. Mean and standard deviation were the statistical instrument used for answering the reach questions; while Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was used test the hypotheses at .05 level of significance. The findings of the study revealed that Vice-Chancellor ensured that students’ hostel accommodation had facilities such as toilets and toiletries, bed space, good light facilities, Solar power systems are installed in the hostel premises for security, security personnel were stationed in the strategic areas to protect students and staff from the current trend of kidnapping, theft in the universities in the North-East zone, Nigeria. It was therefore concluded that the Vice-Chancellor paid little attention to students ' welfare services in universities in the Nort-East. Adequate hostel accommodation should be provided for the students in the universities in the North-east, more sanitary facilities should be provided to students’ hostel to improve their well-being; In terms of security issues, the Vice-Chancellors should ensure that the security unit is provided with security van well equipped with communication gadgets. Also, Vice-Chancellors should ensure that security personnel are trained to handle campus security threat in the universities in the North-East zone of Nigeria.
