Abstract:We study the dynamics of a parametrically and externally driven Rayleigh-Liénard hybrid model and report the emergence of extreme bursting events due to a novel pulse-shaped explosion mechanism. The system exhibit complex periodic and chaotic bursting patterns amid small oscillations as a function of excitation frequencies. In particular, the advent of rare and recurrent chaotic bursts that emerged for certain parameter regions is characterized as extreme events. We have identified that the appearance of a sha… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
