Fabrication and analysis of palmitic acid–decanoic acid@Ce–Eu/TiO2 composite as a building material for regulating indoor environment

Abstract: Novel palmitic acid–decanoic acid@Ce–Eu/TiO2 (PA–DA@Ce–Eu/TiO2) microspheres with high photocatalysis–thermal–humidity collaborative performance were prepared via a two‐step method. Ce and Eu were used for codoping to modify the TiO2 hollow microspheres to enhance the photocatalytic properties. Furthermore, a eutectic phase change material (PA–DA) was combined with Ce–Eu/TiO2 hollow microspheres to prepare PA–DA@Ce–Eu/TiO2 microspheres. X‐ray diffraction and UV–VIS spectral analyses proved that Ce–Eu codoping … Show more

“…Since SGDA and GGBFS provided the larger specific area with more fine particles, adding them in the composite made the water requirement more rigid. Moreover, calcium sulfite possesses a rosette‐like morphology with many leaf‐shaped crystals grown together in aggregates, whose surfaces are covered with pores 38,39 . Thus, such a specific morphology of calcium sulfite imposes a high water requirement.…”

“…Moreover, calcium sulfite possesses a rosette-like morphology with many leaf-shaped crystals grown together in aggregates, whose surfaces are covered with pores. 38,39 Thus, such a specific morphology of calcium sulfite imposes a high water requirement. As a result, the SGDA dramatically increases the water requirement for high specific surface area and peculiar morphology of calcium sulfite.…”

“…In addition, the functional gypsum board had high thermal insulation and heat storage capacity, and there was no moisture problem. Zong et al [25] employed Ce-Eu/TiO 2 hollow microspheres as carriers to adsorb organic eutectic PCMs, and the resulting compos-ite materials had the thermal-humidity-photocatalysis synergistic performance. Specifically, its enthalpy was 64.6 J/g.…”

“…The describing temperature was maintained at 60 °C under stirring continuously for 2 h, then the decanoic acid-palmitic acid compound PCM obtained. A certain mass of decanoic acid-palmitic acid compound PCM was mixed with anhydrous ethanol and deionized water in 50 o C water bath, medium speed magnetic stirring for 10 min, and then ultrasonic dispersing for 5 min, finally the dispersion liquid of decanoic acid-palmitic acid compound PCM was obtained (Zong et al 2020).…”
