“…With TiO 2 fabricated in air and in oxygen plasma, the peak appears around 459.1 eV as can be expected for four‐valence titanium; however, the Ti2p 2/3 peak of TiO 2 fabricated in oxygen plasma atmosphere is sharp on the low binding‐energy side, while the Ti2p 2/3 peak of TiO 2 fabricated in air shows a bulge about 0.8 eV on the low energy side. Such shift of Ti2p 2/3 peak by 0.8 eV toward lower energy was reported for TiO 2 abundant in oxygen vacancies (black TiO 2 ); thus, the bulge observed in TiO 2 fabricated in air can be attributed to oxygen vacancies. That is, one can assume that TiO 2 fabricated in oxygen plasma, as compared to that fabricated in air, contained fewer oxygen vacancies, and that laser irradiation in oxygen plasma contributed to oxygen supply into the thin film.…”
