“…Because of its large GFA and good magnetic properties, an Fe-C-Si-B-P-CrMo-Al BMG developed from industrial raw materials was selected for the present study. According to the previous report by Li et al [26], the Fe-based BMG with composition Fe 68.3 C 6.9 Si 2.5 B 6.7 P 8.7 Cr 2.3 Mo 2.5 Al 2.1 (at.%) can be prepared as amorphous rods with a maximum diameter of 4 mm by water-cooled suction casting. Gas atomization was used to prepare glass-formable powders for the present study.…”

“…In order to reduce the production cost, development of Fe-based BMGs based on the pig-iron alloys directly from blast furnaces under low vacuum conditions has been attempted in many laboratories. [5][6][7] However, a combination of good magnetic properties and high GFA is difficult to be attained simultaneously due to oxides and other impurities in the industrial raw materials, which become efficient heterogeneous nucleation sites in the process of solidification and result in the deterioration of GFA of alloys. Consequently these works mainly focus on the composition design of alloys to find some appropriate elements which can effectively suppress the formation of the primary phase upon solidification so that Fe-based BMGs based on the hot metal could be produced, [6] which lead to the increased cost of products.…”
