Fabrication of Nano-Micro Hybrid Structures by Replication and Surface Treatment of Nanowires

Abstract: Nanowire structures have attracted attention in various fields, since new characteristics could be acquired in minute regions. Especially, Anodic Aluminum Oxide (AAO) is widely used in the fabrication of nanostructures, which has many nanosized pores and well-organized nano pattern. Using AAO as a template for replication, nanowires with a very high aspect ratio can be fabricated. Herein, we propose a facile method to fabricate a nano-micro hybrid structure using nanowires replicated from AAO, and surface trea… Show more

“…The size and orientation of this dimple structure is irregular; however, this phenomenon occurred throughout the entire surface of the specimen. The surface of the specimen became smooth after it was subjected to the UV ozone treatment process 36 ( Figure 6 and Figure 7). This is also why the contact angle of the surface increased after the UV ozone treatment process.…”

“…Figure 3c shows the adhesion force between blanket and cliché (or substrate). Considering the relationship among the adhesive forces of the blanket, cliché, and PET substrate, we modified the surface energy of the cliché and PET substrate by conducting a UV–ozone treatment, [ 59–63 ] which imparted a higher adhesion compared with various elastomeric blanket materials (Figure 2). Figure 3b shows the stretch of blanket using uniaxial system based on Figure 3a.…”

“…The material used for this process was octadecyltrichlorosilane (OTS). The OTS coating process was carried out by vapor deposition in which the wafer was placed in a beaker, and OTS solution was vaporized using a hot plate kept at a temperature of 120 • C for one hour [20]. The entire process was carried out in an N 2 atmosphere and the vaporized OTS was deposited on the master mold patterns.…”
