“…An unusual origin of facial emphysema and even pneumomediastinum is the so-called pneumoparotitis. In this case, a primary alteration of Stensen's duct combined with oral cavity pressure rising could produce parotid gland inflation and acinar epithelium rupture with consequent facial emphysema [11].
