Facile fabrication of flexible metal grid transparent electrode using inkjet-printed dot array as sacrificial layer

Abstract: In this study, we introduce a flexible metal grid transparent electrode fabricated using a lift-off process. This transparent electrode consisting of metal thin film with punched-like pattern by hole array was fabricated with 8 um separations. The separation of inkjet-printed etching resistant ink droplets was controlled in order to investigate the relationship between its electrical and optical properties of the electrodes. The aluminum areal density was defined to predict the electrical and optical propertie… Show more

“…Soft TEs also brought about a revolution in established industries such as the billion‐dollar industry for soft human‐machine interfaces (HMIs). [ 260 ] Flexible transparent touchscreen panels (TSPs), a common type of HMI, are successfully fabricated using MMNN TEs, including both the resistive type [ 7 , 147 , 261 , 262 ] and the capacitive type. [ 97 , 177 , 208 ] The detection of human movements for human healthcare monitoring is another common use of tactile sensors.…”

“…In recent years, extensive research has been undertaken to explore the potential of the printing process for fabricating cost-effective, large-area electronic circuits and devices on flexible electronic substrates 1 . Various methods have been explored, including screen printing 2 , 3 , inkjet printing 4 6 , roll-to-roll printing 7 9 , gravure printing 10 , 11 , and aerosol printing 12 14 . Given the intricate requirements of the printing process for electronic devices, such as organic light-emitting diodes and thin-film transistors which often involve multi-layered structures, precise control over layer sizes and placements is essential 15 17 .…”
