“…However, the diameter of MWCNTs used in our laboratory is less than 50 nm as shown in Fig. 6d [22]. Namely, MWCNTs played a very important effect on crystalline of BP-PEN.…”

“…Typical synthesis of acidulated MWCNTs was described as follows [22]: 5.0 g MWCNTs was added into 225 mL concentrated sulfuric acid, followed by addition of 75 mL concentrated nitric acid to form a black solution with the help of ultrasonic bath at 60°C for 2 h. Then, the final products were obtained by centrifuging and rinsed in three cycles of centrifuging/washing/redispersion in deionized water and anhydrous ethanol, respectively. Finally, the MWCNTs bonded to -COOH groups and -OH is obtained after drying under vacuum at 80°C for 12 h.…”

“…As shown in Fig. 3b, the strong band at 1570-1700 cm 21 is a wide peak for CNTs, and the characteristic absorption peak of the C@O of -COOH at 1724 cm 21 is attributed to mixed acid treatment [17]. The peak at 1712 cm 21 in the FTIR spectra of pure CPEN corresponds to the C@O absorption of the free carboxyl groups on the phenolphthalein units, and the absorption band at 2231 cm 21 belonging to the symmetrical stretching vibration of nitrile groups (-CN) was clearly observed in pure CPEN and CPEN-f-CNTs [18].…”

“…It can be seen that the absorption bands of a-CNTs at around 3420 and 1731 cm -1 are ascribed to the hydroxyl and carboxyl group, respectively [20]. After CNTs were grafted by 4-APN, the bands at 1731 cm -1 disappear, followed by the appearance of new bands at 1697 cm -1 , which is attributed to the carbonyl (C=O) stretching vibration [21].…”
