“…Peaks at 1722 cm −1 and 1220 cm −1 are absent in rGO which support the removal of oxygen groups from sheets of GO on reduction. Furthermore, the peak at 1650 cm −1 compliments the recovery of sp 2 lattice in graphene [38].…”

“…Figure 2 shows the FTIR spectra of catalyst materials before (A) and after (B) Au NPs deposition. The IR spectra (Figure 2A) exhibits vibrations typical of GO (Figure 2A) with a broad band extending from 2500 cm −1 to 3600 cm −1 (C−OH or O−H stretching), a peak at 1703 cm −1 (C=O stretching of −COOH groups), 1548 cm −1 (C=C stretching of aromatic sp 2 carbons), 1410 cm −1 (C−OH deformation), 1340 cm −1 (C−O‐C epoxy stretching) (C−O carboxy stretching) and 1143 cm −1 (C−O carboxy stretching) (C−O epoxy stretching) [34] . A decrease in band intensity was observed in carbonyl/epoxy carboxyl functional groups (−C=O,−C−O−C−) at 1703 cm −1 and 1143 cm −1 respectively, when nGO was reduced to r‐nGO or r‐nGO‐CA.…”

“…28 Most of the associated oxygen-containing peaks were removed or greatly decreased after the reduction process, verifying the successful reduction of the samples despite some weak residual O-H peaks can be observed at approximately 1048 and 1173 cm À1 . 29 Some new peaks also appeared at approximately 2923 and 2852 cm À1 , attributed to the CH 2 stretching vibration and CH stretching vibrations, respectively. 30 The appearance of these new peaks can be ascribed to the reduction of the carbocylic acids in GO to CH 2 OH.…”
