“…Kaddourah and colleagues' study also showed that more than 73% of 105 nurse participants had sufficient knowledge. The analysis results of this study may have been similar to an existing study in Korea, 18 in that nurses were found to be inadequate in knowledge on PU classification, assessment of PU risk, and preventive strategy to reduce pressure and shearing from the level of PU prevention and need to be properly educated to enrich their insufficient knowledge. Based on her findings, the researcher suggests that nurses need to have education that can help complement their insufficiency in such knowledge.…”

“…In the present study, PU care performance was significantly affected by interest in PU care, receiving PU education in the last one year, evidence guiding PU care, and knowledge of PU. Similarly, previous studies have indicated that PU care performance is significantly affected by educational experience (Kwon, ; Park, Cha, et al., ; Park, Yang, et al., ) and knowledge of PUs (Lee et al., ; Yang & Moon, ). However, the multivariate analysis revealed that educational experience and knowledge is less influential compared with an individual's interest in PU care.…”

Many studies have examined PU knowledge and care among nurses who work at long‐term care, small‐ to medium‐sized, and general hospitals (Cho et al., ; Jin, ; Lee & Yang, ; Nam, ; Park, Yang, & Choi, ; Park, Cha, & Kim, ; Seo, ; Yang & Moon, ). The instruments that were used in those studies were either developed by Kim (), based on the Agency for Health Care Policy and Research's () prevention and intervention guidelines, or a translation of the instrument that was developed by Moore & Price ().…”

“…The intentions were determined by three factors, including attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control [ 17 ]. Having a positive attitude can increase the likelihood of behavioral change [ 18 ], and is positively related to performance [ 19 ]. Therefore, negative attitudes toward PU prevention may negatively affect preventive care performance [ 20 ].…”
