Factors associated with Chinese pregnant women’s preference for a cesarean section based on the theory of planned behaviour

Abstract: objectives Cesarean delivery on maternal request is one of the important public health issues in China. “…TPB has a good guiding role in the interpretation, prediction, and intervention of behaviors. Studies have shown that TPB can explain the cesarean section behavior of Chinese pregnant women ( Sun et al, 2020 ), and predict binge drinking behavior ( Lawental et al, 2018 ), and develop intervention strategies to reduce alcohol consumption ( Norman et al, 2018 ), etc. However, it still have some limitations in using these theories to explain the key factors of behavioral variables ( Pudkasam et al, 2018 ), and nearly 50% of behavioral intention and variance of behaviors have not been explained ( Shen et al, 2010 ).…”
