Although that unemployment triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic has recovered in Mexico [90], there are still people who are unemployed; therefore, they are at a higher risk of increasing their dependency to alcohol as a way of coping with economical stress [55]. “…Entre las limitaciones del estudio es que no se evaluaron cambios entre los síntomas depresivos y la inseguridad alimentaria a lo largo de la pandemia ya que en la Ensanut 2020 sobre COVID-19 no se aplicó el cuestionario CESD-7, por lo que esto queda como un punto de análisis futuros de liberarse otras rondas de las Ensanut. Como se reportó, diversas investigaciones tanto a nivel global como entre la población mexicana indican que la enfermedad por SARS-CoV-2 afectó el estado mental de las personas 24,37,46,47 , por lo que no se descarta que la relación entre la inseguridad alimentaria y los síntomas depresivos se encuentren mediados por factores como la presencia de infección o diagnóstico de COVID-19. Entonces, comparar el efecto de la COVID-19 en el estado mental de la población mexicana constituye una futura línea de investigación, pues los datos con los cuales se realizó este trabajo se levantaron antes (Ensanut 2018-19) y en el contexto pandémico (Ensanut 201 sobre COVID-19).…”
