Factors associated with motorcycle-related road traffic crashes in Africa, a Scoping review from 2016 to 2022

Abstract: Background The toll associated with road traffic crashes (RTC) is high, and the burden of injury is disproportionately borne by pedestrians and motor riders, particularly in developing countries. “…Issuing only a temporary driver' s license to the elderly may be appropriate to allow them to take a physical fitness test more often, which could lower traffic accident risks [ 20] . Training and educating elderly drivers may also help them in appropriately assessing and controlling their driving [21] and poor knowledge of traffic regulations was related to road traffic accidents [ 22] .
