“…We also found that sex and age at diagnosis were not associated with tumor recurrence in patients of meningioma with preoperative PTE, which is consistent with previously published ndings [35]. Besides, we believed that brain invasion and edema index were not signi cant predictors of recurrence in patients with preoperative PTE of meningioma.…”

“…Although their study was based on the comparison between patients with preoperative PTE and patients without preoperative PTE which is different from our research, we can infer that postoperative PTE means brain invasion and the invaded brain tissue may be also be the sources of residual cells leading to tumor recurrence after resection. Most of the previous studies suggest that generation of preoperative PTE is more related to WHO grades and extent of resection (EOR)[16,35]. Meanwhile, we found high WHO grades is one of the risk factors of tumor recurrence in patients of meningioma with preoperative PTE.…”

“…7 12 Dari semua studi meningioma yang telah terpublikasi, semua kasus meningioma menunjukkan mayoritas adalah grade I disusul oleh grade II dan grade III sebagai kasus yang paling sedikit. 13 Sama halnya yang terjadi pada penelitian ini, sebesar 82,6% terdiri dari meningioma grade I, 15,3% untuk grade II, dan 1,3% untuk grade III.…”

“…The majority of meningiomas (70-80%) are surgically resected [10]. However, the extent of the resection remains an essential factor of tumor recurrence [11,12]. Surgically unreachable meningiomas are more prone to inadequate and partial resection and/or may display malignant behavior (WHO grade II and III).…”
