“…As noted by Drake et al (2009) 3 in a review of the implementation of evidence-based practices in schizophrenia, factors that are important to successfully disseminating psychosocial evidence-based practices include the state mental health authority's provision of leadership, funding, and practice standards [224][225][226] skilled mentoring and training; 227 site level administrative support 224,[227][228][229][230][231] and monitoring of fidelity and outcomes. 232,233 Until clinical service settings can administer evidence-based practices as they are developed and studied, the problem of the imperfect and inadequate application of research to clinical practice will persist.…”

“…Thus, even though the dimension of Leadership Skills was rarely coded for the state level, other analyses of the National Implementing EBPs Project have clearly suggested the criticality of state leadership (Isett et al 2007(Isett et al , 2008. In addition, there is considerable evidence that efforts at the state-level were important in the areas of fidelity monitoring ) and outcome monitoring (Marty et al 2008), even though neither of these dimensions emerged as important from analysis of the NIEBPP data.…”

“…It is necessary to collect and feedback outcome results to have evidence-based practice. Successful implementations of evidence-based practice depend largely on leadership and outcome monitoring [39]. This involves recognition that clinicians do not have the time to efficiently collect and monitor outcomes and require technology and staff infrastructure that facilitates this function.…”
