“…A technique previously described by Gladstone and Glencross (1960) for the study of growth and toxin production of staphylococci using cellophane bags implanted in the peritoneal cavities of mice was modified for these experiments. Experiments designed to study the growth of bacteria, the diffusion of penicillin and the antibacterial effect of penicillin are reported in the preceding paper (A bu-Nassar, Yow, W illiams and Dolan, 1965). This paper deals with the effect of variations in intervals between doses on staphylococci in the persistent state.…”
