“…This factor enabled the distinguishing of alpine-like rivers with considerable river slopes, high kinetic energy, turbulent flow and coarse-grained riverbed material (boulders, stones), from submontane rivers with smaller riverbed slopes, low kinetic energy and fine-grained bottom material (cobbles, pebbles).
