Faculty Evaluation: Principles and Fundamentals

Abstract: Faculty evaluation is an area that is of great interest to me. — I am interested because I am a faculty member, because I teach management and one of the jobs of any manager is to evaluate people, and primarily because I believe in excellence. Evaluations, done well, will enhance an individual’s desire to work toward excellence. Evaluations, done poorly, will likely be a strong deterrent to reaching excellence. The impact of the evaluation should not be underestimated.
