Such localized corrosion along the grain boundaries may result in intergranular SCC in the presence of tensile stresses [18][19][20]. Chloride stress corrosion cracking (SCC) is the most likely life limiting failure in austenitic stainless steel tubing of USC boilers and welding can even worsen the SCC susceptibility of the material [5] .
