Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) may enhance implementation of clinical practice guidelines: An experience from the Middle East

Abstract: In our experience, FMEA could be a useful tool to enhance CPGI. It helped us to identify potential barriers and prepare relevant solutions.

The results of the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis recommended multiple actions to be taken to enhance the CPGI including (1) regular audit and feedback, (2) improving the CPG adaptation process, (3) networking with existing projects, (4) regular training and education, (5) accessible point of care resources, and (6) engagement of senior health care providers and stakeholders in CPG adaptation and implementation projects .
