“…Pain, drowsiness and itching could all be associated with the use of medications known to increase fall risk, such as narcotics. Prior studies have identified incontinence as a risk factor for falls (Abreu et al., ; Schluter, Arnold, & Jamieson, ), but urination problems were not significantly associated with increased fall risk in the current study. This discrepancy could be due to the differing types of samples across studies (e.g., community‐dwelling elderly adults vs. hospital inpatients) or to insufficient statistical power in the current study.…”

“…While this large national study has strengths, which includes the prospectively collected longitudinal data covering multiple standardized variables and instruments, with a small number of missing values, important weakness also exist. Although used before, 15,21 the primary limitation is the incontinence measures themselves. They were self‐reported, took no account of volume, were only assessed for the past 3 days, and may suffer from responder bias.…”

“…The relationship between UI and falls in older adults has received considerable attention, 10,13,14 although men are commonly underrepresented or ignored in these studies, 14 and many studies suffer from methodological limitations such as incomplete control for confounding 13–15 . As such, there has been a call for more methodologically robust sex‐specific research 16 ; which has garnered at least one response 15 . However, there is scant research that has considered both UI and FI factors simultaneously and their separate or combined relationship to falls.…”

“…Клинические проявления обусловлены нарушением кальций-фосфорного обмена -остеопороз, мочекаменная болезнь и др. Одним из основных лабораторных признаков заболевания является повышенный уровень кальция крови, определение которого включено в КГО [7,11,12,17]. В органах кроветворения с возрастом разрастается соединительная ткань, в результате объем кроветвор-ной ткани у лиц старше 70-75 лет может составлять около 30% ее объема у молодых.…”
