Faraday’s Law of Induction by Experiment

Abstract: Measuring magnetic induction is occasionally performed by our students during their academic training in physics. Among the various methods used to measure it, the Hall effect is the most common and widespread. Another way consists of employing an electronic flux-meter. It is constituted by a small flat coil (SFC) connected to the input of an integrator circuit working with an op amp, whereas the output is connected to a data logger. Then, the SFC is moved perpendicularly to the direction of the magnetic field… Show more

“…A ferromagnetic core-based wrapped coil represents an effective tool to convert magnetic energy into electrical energy (Faraday's Law of Induction) Médjahdi (2019). The magnetic flux density generated around transformation cables depends on a few natural and technical factors like air humidity, the puissance of the transferred power, the electrical resistance of the harvester, and the balance of the 3-phase current.…”

“…Magnetic induction plays an increasing role in wireless power transfer and communications both in air and under water [1][2][3][4][5][6][7]. Meanwhile, electromagnetic induction and wireless power transfer are two phenomena often demonstrated in educational settings, either in class or as a part of lab courses [7][8][9][10][11]. During a demonstration, one is often interested in leaving a visual impact, for example a light emitting diode (LED) turning on [7].…”
