Abstract:Fast-track anaesthesia (FTA) involves early tracheal extubation after surgery, ranging from extubation on-table to within 6-8 hours postoperatively. It is associated with reduced length of intensive care and hospital stay and fewer postoperative complications, which lead to cost savings for patients and more efficient use of resources for hospitals.
