Abstract: Fat embolism syndrome (FES) is a rather uncommon presentation in sickle cell disease (SCD), most frequently happening in the context of long bone fractures following trauma. On the other hand, nontraumatic scenarios and nonorthopedic injuries have been documented to cause fat embolisms.
