“…There was no evidence of infection or hypophosphataemia in our patient, which are complications of parenteral nutrition leading to haemolysis. Bone marrow examination showed marked vacuolation of myeloid and histiocytic cells which is well known in association with Intralipid over-dosage (Freund et al, 1975: Belin et al, 1976. These vacuoles did not stain with Sudan Black or Oil Red O and may therefore represent toxic changes rather than ingested fat.…”
