Abstract:Due to notches, welds are most critical regarding fatigue failure within cyclic loaded constructions. Therefore, various post-weld-treatment techniques like post-weld treatment by high-frequency mechanical impact (HFMI) treatment have been invented to improve the fatigue strength of welded details.
