Fatigue‐Free and Bending‐Endurable Flexible Mn‐Doped Na0.5Bi0.5TiO3‐BaTiO3‐BiFeO3 Film Capacitor with an Ultrahigh Energy Storage Performance

Abstract: As the rapid development of intelligent systems moves toward flexible electronics, capacitors with extraordinary flexibility and an outstanding energy storage performance will open up broad prospects for powering portable/wearable electronics and pulsed power applications. This work presents a simple one‐step process to fabricate a flexible Mn‐doped 0.97(0.93Na0.5Bi0.5TiO3‐0.07BaTiO3)‐0.03BiFeO3 (Mn:NBT‐BT‐BFO) inorganic thin film capacitor with the assistance of a 2D fluorophlogopite mica substrate. The film … Show more

“…This field is comparable to those reported for the leading ferroelectric film capacitors in energy storage applications. [ 17–21 ] However, energy efficiency (η, ≈80%) and the recyclable energy density ( W rec , ≈73 J cm −3 ) of the FE film suffered from its larger remnant polarization ( P r , ≈4 μC cm −2 ) and smaller E b , when compared with those of the SPE films ( P r ≈ 0.7–2 μC cm −2 , E b ≈ 6.0–6.6 MV cm −1 ). [ 21 ]…”

“…a) Room temperature P–E hysteresis loops (@ 1 kHz) at the maximum applicable electric fields of the BSZT films deposited at 25 °C (blue, “SPE” film) and 200 °C (red, “FE” film). The top left inset in (a) displays two‐parameter Weibull distribution analyses of the breakdown strengths using P i = i /( N +1), [ 17–19 ] while the bottom right inset illustrates the nonlinear and linear dielectric behaviors of the two films. b) The compensation current versus electric field ( I–E ) loops which were obtained under the same testing conditions as the P–E loops in (a).…”

“…Because of its high Curie temperature ( T c = 1773 °C) and high‐temperature stability, Ln 2 Ti 2 O 7 (LTO) can be applied in harsh environments, such as ferroelectric random access memory and controlling the smart gas turbine engine above 1273 K . Ln 2 Ti 2 O 7 (Ln = La, Ce, Pr, Nd with larger ionic radii) ceramics with well‐performed high‐temperature piezoelectric and ferroelectric properties belong to one of perovskite‐like structure (PLS) materials .…”
