Fault diagnosis based on grey relational analysis and synergetic pattern recognition for aero-engine gas-path systems

Abstract: The gas-path system is an important sub-system in aero-engines. There are various indistinguishable faults in aero-engine gas-path systems. These faults are easily misjudged because the characteristic parameters are similar. Due to the many kinds of faults, current studies have poor accuracy in distinguishing similar faults. To improve fault diagnosis accuracy for gas-path systems, a fault diagnosis method based on grey relational analysis and synergetic pattern recognition is proposed. In the proposed method,… Show more

“…In these conditions, degradation can be observed as a deviation in a set of performance parameters called health parameters. By determining the deviation of performance parameters from a normal level and examining the relationship between these deviations, gas path faults can be detected, isolated, and identified 3 . Commonly, the efficiency and flow capacity of the gas path components are considered as health index.…”

“…By determining the deviation of performance parameters from a normal level and examining the relationship between these deviations, gas path faults can be detected, isolated, and identified. 3 Commonly, the efficiency and flow capacity of the gas path components are considered as health index. These parameters are inherently unmeasurable and therefore need to be derived indirectly from measurable parameters.…”
